My name's Cerys (pronounced Kerris) and I'm a multi-award winning trainer, helping children's activity providers to get into schools or nurseries...so they can earn a consistent income and grow a business that they're proud of around their families. Having been a shy child at school - who got her confidence from extra-curricular music, drama and dance - I'm on a mission to have a bigger impact on children's lives as we grow our businesses together.
As a children's activity provider, I spent more than a decade trying and testing different methods for getting my business into schools and nurseries. Having been a primary school teacher and subject coordinator since 2004, I knew what schools wanted from external providers but business and marketing was a whole new ball game! I asked business coaches and head teachers but no one could really help me with an actual strategy, until I figured out my own (one that gave me a 107% income increase).
It turns out that strategy has worked for thousands of providers since then!
Having been trained up as a business coach in 2013 and then appointed as Head of Curriculum for a business school, I knew that I wanted to transition into an online coaching business in 2017 when I moved away to Wales. So when a group of dance teachers asked me to teach them how I got my business into schools and nurseries, I never dreamed that this tiny 'made-up' micro-niche of mine would become such a sought after resource within the children's activity industry with 3000+ providers taking my 5 day challenges each year.
And since hundreds of providers started taking part in my pioneering, CPD accredited programme - the Approaching Schools Academy....and over 40 national/international franchised brands hired me to work privately with their networks...there have been some phenomenal results, such as:
- Part-time providers being able to finally leave their 'day' jobs and replace their income doing what they love
- Community businesses adding £20-£30k to their annual revenue by starting to work with schools & nurseries
- Independents becoming so profitable that they can now start franchising their businesses
- Individuals building a team of teachers to grow their businesses in schools & nurseries
- Former teachers replacing (or exceeding) their salary and continuing to do what they love but on their own terms

Thailand was pivotal in my 20 year A.C.E. career in Activities, Coaching & Education. Specialising in Dance at an international school in Bangkok from 2006-2008 is what led me to setting up my own dance business when I returned back to the UK... and coaching 60+ business school clients remotely from Thailand in 2015, is what set me on the path to creating my own online programme when I moved away from my dance school.
To give back, the Approaching Schools Academy is partnered with B1G1 and I'm thrilled that my members and I have been able to provide over 1,500 days worth of school fees for orphaned/at risk children in Thailand, having a truly global impact on children's lives as a result.
